International Student Services (ISS) welcomes applications from prospective F-1 students. The directions below outline the admissions process.

Directions to Create an Account

  1. Create an account as a F-1 international student at mccneb.elluciancrmrecruit.com.
  2. Click on "Create an account!”.
  3. Under “Student Type”, select “International Student”.
  4. Under “International Student Type”, select the type that fits your situation:
    • “Change of status to F-1 Student”
    • “Prospective F-1 student outside the US"
    • “Transfer F-1 Student”
  5. Log into your “MCC Account”
  6. Anticipated Start term (Ex: Fall 2024)
  7. Academic Focus Area of interest: (EX: English as a Second Language, Health Professions)
  8. Create a password and create the account

Directions to Submit an Online Application

  1. Select “New application”
  2. Scroll down select “F-1 international applicant/application”
  3. Begin the application
  4. Under “Student Type”, select “International Student”.
  5. Under “International Student Type”, select the type that fits your situation:
    • “Change of status to F-1 Student”
    • “Prospective F-1 student outside the US"
    • “Transfer F-1 Student”
  6. Applicants must select an approved F-1 student program when completing the application. A list of eligible programs is provided below.
  7. Submit the online application for review
  8. After submitting your application, you will be required to provide proof of your English proficiency. You will receive an email outlining the accepted forms of documentation. If you do not currently have the documentation available, you may take our free ESL Accuplacer Proficiency assessment. You can also review all acceptable options in the "English Proficiency" tab below.

Approved F-1 Student Programs List

Associate Degree programs (AS, AAS, AA) typically take 2-3 years for completion.

Certificate of Achievement programs (CAS) typically take 12-18 months for completion.

ESL program (Non-degree) up to 18 months is allowed for completion.

Exact length of time is determined after the ESL Accuplacer placement test is completed during the admission process.

Other English Proficiency Options

  • English Composition 1 Course: If you have earned a grade of "C" or higher in a U.S. college-level Composition 1 course (or an equivalent English course), email your unofficial transcript to iss@mccneb.edu showing the final grade.
  • ACT: Send an official ACT score taken within the last 2 years to MCC from the ACT website
  • Select Metropolitan Community College. Our school code is: 2447.
  • The minimum score that can be accepted is a 12 on the ACT English Writing portion.
  • If you have a test score lower than this you may take our free ESL Accuplacer Test.
  • SAT: Send an official SAT score taken within the last 2 years to MCC from the SAT website.
  • Select Metropolitan Community College. Our school code is: 5755.
  • The minimum score that can be accepted is 263 on the SAT English Writing portion.
  • If you have a test score lower than this you may take our free ESL Accuplacer Test.

ESL Accuplacer Proficiency Scores

After your ESL Accuplacer test scores have been evaluated, and if you meet the minimum required scores, you will receive an email outlining the next steps in the application process. The email will include instructions for submitting supplemental items, along with detailed information about the requirements for each item.

Application Deadlines

We do not accept late applications. All supplemental items and English Proficiency must be reviewed and met on your application by the deadline of each quarter. Please review our application deadlines carefully for each quarter. If your application is not fully completed by the last day of the deadline you will be directed to apply for the next quarter and your application will be withdrawn.
