Support and Resources for Title IX

Supportive measures are available to individuals reporting or responding to a sexual harassment claim. You can receive these services whether or not a formal complaint or grievance process begins.

These services are free, individual and nonpunitive. They are designed to protect your safety, restore equal access to education and stop sexual harassment without unfairly bothering the other party. Contact the Title IX coordinator to discuss your needs.

Available Support Measures

  • Counseling or advocacy referrals
  • Deadline extensions or other course changes
  • Schedule changes for classes, work or activities
  • Campus escort services
  • Mutual contact restrictions between parties
  • Location changes for work or education
  • Leaves of absence
  • Increased security or monitoring in specific areas
  • Other help based on your individual needs

How to Request Support

To request help, contact Title IX coordinator Julie Langholdt at 531-622-2202 or jlangholdt@mccneb.edu.

Explain how the situation impacts your education, work or safety, and detail the assistance you need. If an approved measure is missing, ineffective or not working, contact the Title IX coordinator immediately.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Metropolitan Community College protects information related to reports and complaints as required by law. The College shares information only with officials who need it to do their jobs, or as otherwise required by law.

MCC keeps supportive measures confidential as long as doing so does not get in the way of providing the support. Public Clery Act crime statistics do not identify victims.

  • Note on Title IX Reporting: A Title IX coordinator is not a confidential resource. If you want to speak with someone who can keep your information strictly confidential, contact a community advocacy or healthcare provider.
  • Important: Ask community providers about their privacy rules before sharing sensitive information. Advocacy groups, shelters and medical centers may have different confidentiality limits.
