Resources, programs and everyday choices that make a difference
Sustainability at MCC is something students, staff and community members can participate in every day. Whether you want to stay informed, change a habit or take advantage of programs already available to you, this page connects you to the resources and opportunities to advance environmental stewardship on campus.
Transportation
How you get to campus is one of the most impactful sustainability choices available to you. MCC offers several programs to make lower-impact transportation easy and affordable.
Pass to Class
Eligible MCC students ride Metro Area Transit buses for free through Pass to Class. Pick up a pass at any Student Services location or request one by mail.
Heartland Bike Share
Bike share stations are available at the Fort Omaha and South Omaha campuses, as well as at some Express locations. Heartland Bike Share is currently offering free passes to Omaha Metro residents.
Waste and Recycling
MCC campuses and locations are set up to make reducing waste straightforward. The resources below can help you sort correctly and dispose of materials responsibly.
Campus Recycling
Recycling right ensures materials can actually be turned into something new, and recycling bins are available across all campuses and locations. For guidance on what goes where, see the Keep Omaha Beautiful recycling guide.
